This is a one of a kind amazing piece of Americana. A home built soap box derby car that won the regional Championship in Ohio in 1964.
The driver was Freddie Frost from Plattsburg, NY and he was sponsored by the local Chevrolet dealership. There is also an encouragement letter from the citizens of Plattsburg, NY. Included are trophies, program booklets and some great pictures that tell the history of the car, including his helmet. The construction is similar to how old wooden boats are built with strips of wood, kind of like an old Cris-craft boat was constructed. The car is 82" long x 35" wide and 21 high.As you can see we hung this cool car on a wall to display it at Columbia Rivertowne Antique Center, Columbia, PA.
