Back in the 1950s many adventuresome children wanted this Vintage Murray 3 Wheeler Trike with a Double Step under their Christmas tree. Just the thing for that first freedom trip down the driveway, the original red Murray sported a white Troxel saddle seat. Murray Ohio Company, which was Cleveland founded in 1919, originally made auto parts. The company began manufacturing bicycles in the mid-1930s. In 1939, Murray introduced its Pacemaker Series Mercury bicycle at the 1939 New York World's Fair, ushering in limited success until 1942.
After the war, the company began making youth bikes, distributing them in Sears, Western Auto and Firestone Tire, among other retailers. Murray bicycles are no longer made in the United States. Share a memory and a rite of passage!
